Fan series for the 3rd division

With the help of the community, (Site notre blog d’information) will take a closer look at all 56 Bundesliga, Bundesliga 2 and Bundesliga 3 teams in the coming weeks. Which players fans are most looking forward to, where is there room for improvement and what’s in the squad for 2022/23 for your favorite club? For this we asked around in the forums and collected ratings – in league three we continue with the user « munga » and 1. FC Saarbrücken.

How do you rate the 1. FC Saarbrücken team?

For me, the summer transfer from 1. FC Saarbrücken started with the announcement of the goal of the season: “RISE”. My first thought was: ‘Once again typical club megalomania’. With this team? Never! The next shock came when Boné Uaferro (595 minutes played) and Bjarne Thoelke (147 minutes) and Bjarne Thoelke (147 minutes) extended their contracts – two 30-year-old players with long-term injuries with the aim of promotion for the season. He continued in this style.

With Tobias Schwede (238 min.) and Julius Biada (33 min.), we signed a player of 28 and 29 years old, permanently injured the previous season. It felt like those four players weren’t on the pitch for 1,000 minutes last season. It continued with Kasim Rabihic, 29, and Mike Frantz, 35. But more on that later. The first glimmers of hope were the commitments of Richard Neudecker (from 1860) and Marvin Cuni (Bayern II) as well as the professional contract of our young talent Frederik Recktenwald. So far, squad planning is (still) difficult for me to understand, especially with the goal of the season.

Where do you see a need for improvement by the deadline?

With 26 players in the squad at the moment, we are quite well positioned quantitatively. Now on to Mike Frantz, my dream signing: he may be the oldest player on the team, but he’s also the most experienced. He hails from Saarbrücken and wanted to end his career with his hometown club 1. FC Saarbrücken. A player like that can make all the difference and I trust Mike to do the same.

What do you expect from the player aspect of the team?

With the last 3-4-1-2 system played, I would like the following composition on the pitch – regardless of injuries: Batz – Zellner, Frantz, Thoelke – Ernst, Zeitz, Neudecker, Kerber, Günther-Schmidt – Grimaldi, Rabihic

In any case, we have a better workforce in width than last season.

What can 1. FC Saarbrücken do throughout the season?

In terms of pure market value, those who have been relegated from the second division are certainly ahead of us. In terms of mentality, however, I think we can definitely follow this team. Thank goodness no player left us this summer that I will miss. I expect a season without relegation worries and hope that we can play for a long time at the top and finally win the Saarland Cup again.
