Also goes well with rice
Robert Glatzel (29) could become a bargain next summer if Hamburger SV miss out on their return to the Bundesliga again. ‘Sport Bild’ report that the striker has an exit clause in his contract which applies in case of non-promotion and is below the market value of €2.5m.
Last summer, Glatzel extended his contract by one year, which initially ran until 2024, after rumors of a move to the Bundesliga and notably to promoted FC Schalke 04. During this operation, an existing exit clause has been raised from 1.1 to 1.5 million euros, it is said. In addition, Glatzel’s annual salary would have increased from 600,000 euros to 1.3 million euros including bonuses.
At the time, it was said that Glatzel had decided to leave the « Rothosen » by this same agreement. It was later said that the Munich native turned down an existing offer from the Royal Blues. « It was bad to change. And you win a lot more than a lot of others anyway, » said the striker a few weeks after his extension. He would have « definitely » given up on the money, but it was a decision of the heart, he said.

HSV could continue to rely on the services of their personified goal guarantee. In the current season, after 19 games in the 2nd Bundesliga, 13 goals (and one assist) have been recorded, which makes Glatzel the top scorer in the lower house. . The striker moved from Cardiff City to the Hanseatic city in 2021 for a fee of €1m and has so far picked up 46 points in 61 appearances.
HSV: There will probably also be an exit clause for Ludovit Reis
Besides Glatzel, according to ‘Sport Bild’, there is also an exit clause in the contract of teammate Ludovit Reis (22), which also applies in the event of non-promotion. The Dutch national U21 player’s fee is expected to be no lower but higher than the market value of €5m, making Reis the most valuable player in the second division. Reis came to HSV on a free transfer from FC Barcelona reserves in 2021, where he extended until 2026 in November.
